Timothy was born December 7, 1968 in Newbury Park, California.
He was enrolled in a music academy at age four and grew up in a
house of constant singing/piano playing by his mother and vintage
car restoration by his father. He was a child prodigy on clarinet
by age ten. Bradley, his younger brother, filled the house with
his piano music and worked on motorcycles. "Our house was a
heavy place," recalls Timothy, "you could play music at
any time or make anything with what your could find but if you didnt
pass mothers in-depth music lessons you received an incredible thrashing.
Art, songs, and tears spanned my formative years."
In high school Timothy moved to the drums and into surfing, punk
rock, and black and white photography. Photography opened his eyes
for art and the ocean and punk rock gave him inspiration to break
through life's chaos to reach something otherworldly and beautiful.
He toured and recorded with punk bands Scared Straight and Aftertaste.
In college he studied more photography and finally majored in art
at Pepperdine University. "Pepperdine was an amazing experience,"
says Timothy. "When I studied art there, the school had the
worst art facilities in the state for a university. The school had
nothing; I had about just as much. So I drove around the city and
went through trashcans and alleyways collecting car hoods, rusted
pieces of metal, fire extinguisher boxes, broken chairs anything
that interested me to paint on or display my sculptures. My professors
Faulkner, Delange, and Shutt were very encouraging and supportive."
Timothy received a B.A. in Fine Art in 1990.
Thereafter, Timothy moved to Santa Monica painting and sculpting
on his apartment floor and playing bass in the gothic-psychedelic
band, Medusa Head Trip. He moved into an art studio in Venice and
began collecting door and window frames and placing his oceanic-stained
glass paintings behind the glass. These caught the eye of artist
friend Terrell Moore who gave Timothy his first one man show in
his Westminster Garage Gallery in 1996. From the show paintings
sold regularly and galleries opened their doors. To turn professional
at 27 was a dream from heaven come true. In 2002 Timothy founded
the Black Cat Gallery. "I give praise to my friend and King,
Christ, for the constant love and favor he has given freely to me.
A loving Thank You to my true love, Rainbow, my family, friends,
and collectors for their belief and kindnesses."
Timothy has recently shown twice at the prestigious BGH Gallery
at Bergamot Station. His other shows included a full retrospective
show at the Inshallah Gallery, Purple Gallery, Westminster Garage
Gallery, Half a Dozen Rose Gallery, and a solo show at the Key Club
Theater. His paintings have been featured in Bikini Magazine. He
continues to write and play music in his new darkwave/ambient/rhythmic
band Sea Spider.
